Major New Version Release (v2.2)

A major update for MazeSuite is released. Summary list of changes are as follows. To get the update, download the latest setup file.

 

MazeSuite Release 2.2

New documentation and tutorial

New maze and mazelist sample files (under my documents>mazesuite>samples ) demonstrating various features.

And the following app specific changes.

 

MazeWalker (v2.6.5.0)

Updated 3D engine and new physics engine for improved rendering.

Enabled Autogenerated Mipmaps

Bilinear Anisotropic Filtering enabled for supporting cards by default

MSAA 4x enabled for supporting cards by default

Fixed an issue with texturing/lighting in MazeLists related to white texture not properly resetting between levels

Set wrapped image as default skybox instead of individual walls

Updated advanced graphics options dialog

Added non-functional filtering options for MSAA, V-Sync, Ansiotropic

Updated video playback capabilities and prevent generating log during video playback

Various other improvements

 

MazeMaker (v2.7.5.0)

New MazeWizard for generating new mazes with adjustable size and difficulty levels.

Revised maze properties editing and updated maze file format

Keyboard shortcuts for all tools

MazeListbuilder updated: new image item that presents a selected image file when running mazelists.

Manual menu item under top menu help.

New Setup Preview Available (Release Candidate)

A preview of MazeSuite v2.2 is now available at Downloads section at viewtopic.php?f=19&t=73

This is a release candidate but mostly documentation will be added for final release. If you like to try it out, it is available at the above link.

Some new features include new maze generation wizard, gui updates, skybox, major updates to 3d engine and new physics engine for more realistic visualization. Please let us know your comments and suggestions.

A major update for MazeSuite is released. Summary list of changes are as follows:

 

MazeSuite Release v2.1

New setup file and updated components as listed below.

Windows shell integration, right-click context menu actions: open, run, edit, analyze for maze and mel files.

 

MazeWalker (v2.5.0.0)

Improved compatiblity with Intel HD Graphics Cards

Modified so that shaders do not depend on EXT_GPU_Shader4

Added “white texture” to all non-textured surfaces

Improved Skybox support

Now default behavior for walls is Color or Texture, not both

Modified cameraSpeedView so it is 4 times slower

Updated texture loading to not crash when in release mode

Modified mouse coordinate movement (uses rotation coordinates instead of arbitrary view vectors) now have fuller range of motion

Modified Collision detection so it is more efficient in sorting

Modified plane surfaces so that they use variable z-depths which prevents textures/surfaces flashing.

Modified texture loading to resolve absolute file names correctly (PNG, bmp, and jpg)

Modified main to load wall planes with texture IDs of -1 as invisible walls

Modified texture loading to use exclusively absolute path names and convert into

Modified texture loading to also search “tex” directory

Modified texture loading to forgive erroneous filenames, ie will attempt to load 123.bmp if 123.jpg is not available

Modified texture loading to stop gracefully (i.e. when given absolute paths or self-referential paths)

 

MazeAnalyzer (1.7.0.0)

Measurement tool: Detailed region entry/exit log is provided for each region

Region Definition file can be opened from main window and recent file list is also saved in current settings (in addition to ‘Manage Regions’ tool)

Updated to work with .NET Framework 4.0

A maintenance update for MazeWalker is released. Changes are as follows:

MazeAnalyzer (1.6.0.4)
MazeLib (1.4.1.0)
Updated to include editable maze scale option for each maze path. This scale is set with the current maze’s value

A new publication by Holper et al investigates spatial navigation using MazeSuite. In the article titled “Error detection and error memory in spatial navigation as reflected by electrodermal activity”, the team demonstrated that electrodermal activity can be used to monitor affective user states related to spatial navigation.
