To Whom It May Concern:

Great software! Do you have any plans of a future update supporting the Occulus developer kit 2?

Sincerely,
Brooks

Due to related issues with the Development Kit, I would look at waiting till the first consumer release date comes up before purchasing a system.
Oculus broke compatibility with the DK1 and the DK2 and it makes things a bit harder from the development end.

Hi AdrianC,
Thank you for the information and link, but I am not sure I understand your post. Have you tested the Occulus DK1 or DK2's compatibility with MazeSuite and found it to not work, or are you referring to development for consumer use? I plan to use it for a research study, so as long as it works for that I am not concerned about the latter. I would appreciate any further insight you may have on the topic.

Sincerely,
Brooks

Hi Brooks,

The latest release of MazeSuite has been tested with DK1 as noted, but is not compatible with DK2 yet because Occulus changed the interfacing structure from DK1 to DK2. What Adrian referring is that a new release from Occulus is due next summer and you may want to use that in your projects. Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Hasan

Hi Hasan,
Thank you for the additional information. I was going to order the DK2 to start gathering some preliminary data, but I will wait until either it becomes compatible or the next version is released.

Sincerely,
Brooks

Hasan is correct on this account. I implemented DK1 into MazeWalker, however DK2 relies on an entirely different method which is incompatible with DK1. DK2 integration with MazeWalker is a possible development avenue but at the moment we are waiting for the consumer release of the Oculus Rift so we can get the broadest compatibility. That being said I can't wait to work with CR1 :)
