Randomizing Trials

Post by murray.horne » Fri Jun 27, 2014 4:21 pm

I am using mazesuite for one of my lab courses during the summer. The easy to use interface makes it ideal for students to design and conduct their own spatial learning experiments. I have a question about when you build a maze list. Is there a way that mazesuite will randomize the order of the maze files that are present in the maze list or do we have to create multiple maze lists and do the randomization ourselves?

Hi Murray,

Thanks for your message, happy to hear these. In our experiments, we have been saving different ordered maze lists as separate files and using them in experiments as such (different subjects using different maze list files to balance the order). The guiding principle has been to make sure experimenter has full control over the order at all times. What you describe in educational settings makes sense to have a randomization, we will plan to enhance the mazelist capabilities.
Best wishes,
